Brew & Bake at the Edelweiss

Absolutely lovely staff, who is very welcoming and is taking care of any requests. The hotel itself has nice rooms and comfortable beds. I also recommend the breakfast. The baths are quite small, but clean and also good shower with enough water pressure. The location is little far outside of Douglas, which causes trouble if you want to rely on late bus connections etc. However during normal operating hours this isn't really an issue, and there is also a bus station right in front of the guest house.

Love staying here, my go to hotel every time I come over to the island. The place is spotless, Shirley and Marianne always look after us perfectly and the breakfast is one of the best available! Would recommend staying here to anyone as it’s in the perfect location just off Douglas promenade and you’ll be looked after to the highest standard!

Where do I begin! My grandad booked this holiday last year and unfortunately was diagnosed with a brain tumour and we inherited the holiday due to him being unable to travel any longer. From the moment I contacted the guesthouse they could not be more accommodating! Shirley was absolutely amazing and ensured that all of our needs were taken care of. I explained that we had a little one and also wanted to ask if we could bring our little dog with us which wasn’t an issue at all! The evening before we travelled Shirley messaged us to wish us a safe journey and even made sure that we were able to check in early when we landed in Douglas (the boat docked at 6am! Which we were not looking forward to!) And when we arrived the room was ready and there was even a little doggie treat bag and two dog bowls ready for us! We hadn’t booked breakfast but it was so easy to add on as long as you pre book the day before. We went down the next morning and Shirley and the team had reserved us a table in their lovely dining room and even had a baby bowl ready for us! The food was fresh and there was an amazing selection of cereals, fruit and yoghurts and a full cooked breakfast that you can help yourself too. We couldn’t have asked for anything more..but it gets better! We noticed in reception that there were some pictures of waffles (and they looked so GOOD!) We enquired about how to order them and Shirley took down what we liked. The next morning we came down for breakfast and a few minutes later our fresh hot waffles were on the table. Now I grew up in America and these were some of the BEST waffles I have ever had! Just think, loaded waffles with sliced Banana, Ice Cream, Maple Syrup and Cream with little fudge pieces! Honestly just amazing! The staff are an absolutely credit too! The girls went above and beyond and we really felt at home. We cannot wait to return next year and are already planning our next visit! We have travelled quite extensively and stayed at lots of hotels, but I have to say that this is one of the best guesthouse/ hotel I have ever stayed at. When we had to leave, I have never really experienced holiday blues before but this time I felt sad that we were having to leave such a beautiful place and such amazing people. I do not think that you will find anywhere else that will make you feel as welcome and looked after than the Edelweiss. We are definitely going to be making this one of our annual family getaways!

Very welcoming, friendly and helpful team - nice well equipped, clean and comfortable room. Made my trip to the Isle of Man even more enjoyable.

I had a lovely weekend stay at the Edelweiss, my room was very comfortable and I enjoyed waking up to a sea view! The service was very friendly and I had everything I needed (a little fridge in the room was a nice bonus!)
