I had my wedding reception at Ellan Vannin and would recommend them to anyone! Their staff, food and service was outstanding! They decorated the room and table beautifully and both I and my husband had a wonderful stay that evening too. The room was gorgeous with outstanding views of the sea. It was immaculate and was stocked with all condiments etc with a lovely cooked breakfast the following morning. Not o
They also delivered the most amazing Sunday Roasts to my door throughout lockdown. I really cannot stress enough what a beautiful amazingly ran hotel this is.

3 months agoThis hotel was brilliant for our needs during the Manx GP. On the front in Douglas it has well appointed rooms with good facilities. Breakfasts were excellent with plenty of choice. Comfortable lounge with a bar for relaxation. Staff were brilliant and could not have done any more to make us welcome. Thank you all.

4 months agoTremendous location on the front with stunning views across the whole of the bay and so handy for the ferry terminal. Beds comfy, bathrooms spotlessly clean, all the staff so friendly will ensure you enjoy your stay. Special shout out for the Manx Kippers at breakfast - well worth asking for them as they are cooked to order - they were

6 months agoI stayed here with Newmarket Holidays for 5 days, on arriving at 10am we were welcomed by a lovely lady Sarah, with coffee / tea and croissants and pan au chocolat with butter and jam. After going for a walk on arrival back our cases had been taken to our rooms. I had S3 a double, No view, up one and a half flights of stairs no lift. Lovely spacious room with plenty of storage, plus ironing board and iron and hairdryer, nice size tv. Lovely and clean. Pillows could be upgraded to a better quality. Bathroom quite compact, but a few shelves, lovely walk in shower with shower gel, shampoo these could be attached to wall differently as very difficult to dispense. Also no towel rails which leaves no where to hang wet towels, which were lovely white fluffy and large. Breakfast is self service with plenty of choice. Dinner was also self service again with plenty of choice, soup plus cold starter, at least 3 or 4 main choices with veg, fresh fruit cocktail with cream or a gateau. My only little niggle is that the staff seemed to be hovering while eating, and were very quick to remove plates etc. Nice lounge with a small bar which did not have a lot of choice. Good free wifi connection. All staff very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel.

6 months agoWe stayed at the Ellan Vannin Hotel at the end of April2024. We flew into Manchester first and stayed at a convenient MotelOne which is my comparison point. MotelOne was useful as a clean convenient place to sleep off the jet lag and look around, but after leaving to the Isle of Man and staying at the Ellan Vannin, it became obvious to me the EVH knew how to sweat the details and get it right in spite of being a much smaller establishment. The room itself was not much bigger than the MotelOne room, but the EVH little things like extra blanket/pillows, bathroom accessories, and room accessories were much better thought out and provided. My only possible complaint might be the 5th floor walkup, but I was aware of that going in, so that's on me and I'm in good enough shape that it was a non issue. Plus the view of the bay was exceptional and our roof top seagull vagrants trying to mooch from us just added to the appeal. Watching/storing our bags before we left in the afternoon was also much appreciated. We really enjoyed our stay because of the charm and character of the hotel. But also the customer service and attention to detail was welcome and impressive. Great job Ellan Vannin staff!
