The Sound, at the very southern tip of the Isle of Man, is a beautiful place to appreciate the Island’s coastal beauty, whether it is on a sunny summer afternoon or a dramatic winter morning.

The Sound cafe offers stunning panoramic views of the Calf of Man and the surrounding countryside, paired with delicious Manx food, indoor and outdoor seating, and a friendly welcome.

Try some famed Manx seafood or locally sourced mains, followed by a piping hot drink and one of the wide selection of freshly baked cakes and goodies – or maybe a cheeky Davidson’s Manx ice cream – in a comfortable and relaxed setting.

A lovely spot to see the seals and sea birds. The cafe has a lovely panoramic view to the Calf of Man. Service is very quick and the staff are friendly. The food was good and reasonably priced. A good selection of cakes available. Parking outside but the place is popular so get full quickly. I had just joined a new app called Loyal IOM. This allows you to collect stamps and late claim a drink etc. The app stated that you could collect points here and when I asked the staff said yes they are part of the scheme. However I could not find the Loyalty point to collect points and when asked the staff they could not find the coaster that allows you to collect electronically.

We had the best coffee, a breakfast burrito, sausage muffin and scone. Such good food and professionally presented. They view was spectacular and couldn’t have had a better start to the day. Breakfast starts at 10:00am however!

Wonderful cafe overlooking the sound of man and calf of man. Quick and professional service; we only had breakfast items but the menu covers the full day. Food was very good and the views are superb.

Wonderful cafe, love the view. But… the prices are going crazy. Now £17.95 for Scottish Breakfast. Used to be £11.95 with free tea/coffee. Then £13.95 without drink. Now £17.95 with no drink included. Used to also allow substitutions for things our son doesn’t eat like mushrooms/tomato for extra beans, now charge extra for that. It chips away. Now an occasional treat rather than a regular visit. I know prices are going up, but it has almost doubled in cost in under 3 years. Also was 6 stamps for a free coffee, now 10. Look at the black pudding “crisp”!!

Incredible view. Perched at the very edge of the Isle of Man’s southern coastline, The Sound Café is more than just a place to eat—it’s an experience etched into the cliffs above the Irish Sea. From its panoramic windows, guests are treated to sweeping views of the Calf of Man, where seals sunbathe on Kitterland and seabirds dive across silver waves. Locals and travelers alike come not only for the view, but also for the warmth of Manx hospitality and the rich, locally sourced cuisine that fills every plate. The journey there is a scenic adventure of its own, winding through the sleepy village of Cregneash and along Sound Road until the cliffs open to reveal the café’s car park, often busy with visitors eager for breakfast, a seafood lunch, or simply a slice of homemade cake. Inside, floor-to-ceiling glass invites the outdoors in, while friendly staff serve up everything from hearty Scottish breakfasts to fresh crab and Davidson’s Manx ice cream. With indoor and outdoor seating—and a dog-friendly policy—the space feels open, relaxed, and deeply connected to its wild surroundings. While the café hums with life, there’s something peaceful about the place. Visitors linger with a coffee, watching for dolphins or basking sharks just offshore, or refueling after a hike to the nearby Chasms or Milner’s Tower. In summer, the longer hours invite golden-hour meals against the setting sun; in winter, it offers a cozy retreat from the sea winds. Whether you arrive by foot, bike, or car, The Sound Café captures the essence of the Isle of Man: wild beauty, heartfelt flavors, and a rhythm that invites you to slow down and simply enjoy.
