The simply beautiful Hotel Halvard opened their doors in the Spring of 2018 and the Island’s residents stepped back in amazement at the styled Boutique Hotel they saw before them. With 20 stunningly appointed luxury en-suite rooms and suites, a lounge bar area, restaurant and private dining experience rooms the Hotel has genuinely raised the bar of Isle of Man accommodation experience not dissimilar to that of the high quality demanded in any major city by business and leisure guests.

The Hotel Halvard has quickly become the premier luxury experience the Island longed for and a firm favourite with locals for staycations, celebrations and individually planned bespoke functions for smaller groups. Their Belgian fusion Restaurant “Lieveken” has a delightful Menu wowing diners with the cullinary delights of the Flanders with a uncompromised emphasis on the use of fresh and high quality local produce by their talented and dedicated team of chefs.

The Corporate experience is very well provided at the Hotel Halvard providing the perfect relaxing base for the modern business traveller and why many companies now favour the Halvard when accommodating visiting colleagues. The Halvard’s well achieved aspirations to”always exceed expectations for all guests ” is particular evident in this area due to their high level of repeat business they now achieve which is very well deserved as they are a credit to our Island and an asset to the business community.

“Stay Like the Stars at the Halvard” has unofficially become how the Halvard is regarded due to the many visiting celebrity and VIP guests they have welcomed through their doors but ensuring absolute privacy and discretion always during their stay. The Halvard’s staff however would argue all their guests are VIP’s and this is evident through their countless recommendations they receive from very happy guests and Diners.

We stayed for 3 nights at The Halvard Hotel - a lovely, boutique hotel on the Douglas Bay seafront. This Art Deco hotel is stylish, very clean and our room was very nice, quiet, with a free in room bar and lots of toiletries which are replenished daily, plenty of fluffy towels and a powerful, hot shower. The breakfast is delicious with a range of good options and very generous. The staff are Excellent with high standards - Lucas and the team were great and made us feel very welcome! The room was stylish, comfortable, generous in size, free in room bar and good selection of teas, coffees. Very powerful shower and nice toiletries and fluffy towels. We had a nice, quiet room (room 305). Everything was very clean as well (v important for me).

Had a short break in Douglas. This hotel did not disappoint. Booked the suite with the sea view and was exceptionally nice. A bottle of fizz was waiting on our arrival. The room had everything you needed and was all complimentary. The staff were very friendly and helpful, would definitely stay again and recommend..

Really enjoyed our stay in a stylish and very comfortable room (junior suite) with fabulous views. Generous and tasty breakfast, with lovely staff who were really attentive and helpful. Great location on the front. The only drawback is lack of hotel parking - we were directed to a nearby public car park which was fine but meant us having to go and pay at 8am every morning. Would be good to do this through the hotel as a one off payment to avoid daily trips there.

Just had a very disappointing stay at The Halvard Hotel. We were given room 103 when we checked in. The room was right next to the lift and it was very noisy as the lift was being used. We asked to be moved and the receptionist was very helpful and changed our room to 204. After being out all day we came back at night ready for a good nights sleep. This was absolutely impossible as the music from the Quids Inn pub together with shouting from the people drinking in there went on until the very early hours. The bed also wasn’t the most comfortable in the world either which didn’t help. We were also then woken up by the people staying in the room next door as I think the walls are constructed out of very thin paper and you could hear everything they were doing, including a pretty poor “performance” in the morning 🤢 On a positive note the shower in the morning was really powerful with plenty of hot water and nice complimentary shower gel, shampoo and body cream. The complimentary drinks and snacks in the mini-bar was also a nice touch. Lastly the breakfast was ok, not amazing but not the worst breakfast in the world, just average. Unfortunately I don’t think I’d stay there again as I expect a bit more quality when paying over 140 quid per night for a room!
