Surfside is situated on Falcons Hill in Port Erin. Turn left out of the front door, and it is 40 yards to the beach and the wonderful promenade. Turn right, and within 100 yards you are in the centre of the village, close to shops, cafes and restaurants – yet stay inside, and you have total seclusion.
Total seclusion yes – but not at the expense of wonderful views from the panoramic window in the main living room, which looks west to the Mountains of Mourne – imagine this as a backdrop to a wonderful sunset!
From outside, Surfside looks deceptively small, but this is a little misleading! As the property is built into the hillside, the main living room, study and kitchen are on the “first floor”. Going downstairs you will find two bedrooms, bathroom with separate shower, utility room and a large conservatory – outside the conservatory there is an enclosed ornamental garden. The conservatory is generously furnished with appropriately styled tables, chairs and soft furnishings. The building is centrally heated, and the period pine flooring on the first floor provides the final “country cottage” feel. If you’re looking for a romantic getaway, Surfside has a traditional log burner which gives the cottage a wonderful cosy atmosphere!
Ample car parking is available near the property.

a year agoWe (2 adults and a small dog) were lucky enough to have an extended stay of 6 weeks in Surfside and highly recommend it. The cottage is full of character, beautifully themed and had everything we needed including incredible views of Port Erin bay and Bradda Head. It's just a few metres from the beach and we were there mid winter with some spectacular storms - great to watch from the living room with the log burning stove making things very cosy. Fantastic for dog walking, with a very welcoming community of regular dog walkers on the beach and many paths nearby. Also (at least in winter) lots of parking nearby and two easy to use EV charging points, not that we needed to go out in the car a lot as there's plenty to do and a good selection of shops + post office/bank/pharmacy and plenty of superb eating options too. For anyone who enjoys photography... couldn't ask for a better location!

5 years agoThe cottage has everything you need for self cater or there are places close to if you want to eat out. It is a two minute walk out to the beach and the view from the sitting room across the whole bay is stunning. Inside the accomodation there are a few steps, as it is built into the hill side, so may not be suitable for those with mobility issues. The owners provide a lot of information about the area and places to visit. We were there for the Manx GP we were provided with race information and road clisure times as well. They are really helpful to visitors.

a year agoThis is the worst place I visited. You order at the bar and the lady at the bar owns the place. She took my order of just the scampi and cheesy fries. The very young girls come and serve you. It looked awful and she got the order wrong by giving me 2 plates of fries. I told the young lady that there were way too many fries. She offered to take one set of does away and give me a refund. There was a couple sitting in front of me. The man asked her to just give him the extra fries rather than trow them away. The serving girl agreed and left. She never have the fries to the man and the owner told me she would not give me a refund. I pointed out that get staff offered me the refund, I never asked for it. She then went around and asked all her staff who offered me the refund. If you end up here, there are 2 other options to go to right next door. This is by far the worst, the one o that is next to it is better and the one further away is the best food and staff are so much better. If you end up here, you have been warned.
